Dawarich Upload Feature

Dawarich has an API where points can be uploaded to. I host my own Dawarich Server because I want to get rid of Googles tracking. Maybe this would be a good export feature where the points are uploaded to at night. Because I like the UI in Replay more than in the Dawarich App. Als the tracking there is not as good as in Replay! POI category info in text search

I would love to see category information for each POI in a text search represented visually somehow in the result list. Something like custom icons, or even a category name on each list item, would be useful. I say this because there is a lot of duplication of POIs on Apple Maps, and for popular locations like this London train station, it’s hard to know which POI is a duplicate and which is the real train station! MKMapItem seems to have a pointOfInterestCategory property that might be useful here 🤞

Tracking has completely stopped since build 19

Since I upgraded to build 19 yesterday at around 13:27 (see the first screenshot), my app has completely stopped tracking my visits. I’ve tried turning tracking off and on again, and changing the location accuracy, but nothing is appearing in my timeline since 13:27 yesterday. I’ve been walking a lot this morning but Replay hasn’t yet registered anything.

Locations and time spent

Hi For many years I have been using the Life Cycle app to track where I have been and how long I stayed at different places. It has worked great, but development of the app seems to have stopped, so I’m currently looking for a replacement. That’s when I came across your app. Some features I would really like to see added are better tools for getting an easy overview of a day — specifically where I have been and how much time I spent at each location. I use this to keep track of time spent at work and to maintain a work log. It would be great to visualize the day as a bar diagram or timeline, showing time spent in different categories such as Home, Work, Shopping, Transit, and other places I visit. It would also be very helpful if locations in the app could be linked to an existing location database such as Foursquare or a similar service. That would make tagging and identifying locations much easier. One challenge I currently have with your app is that it only allows one workplace, while in reality I have several different workplaces as a freelance consultant. Another issue is that when I move around within a workplace, the app sometimes thinks I have moved to a different address, so it suddenly registers a new location. It would be helpful if the location geofence could be slightly larger or more stable, so the location doesn’t change so frequently when moving within the same place. You might want to take a look at the Life Cycle app for inspiration. I’m not suggesting copying it, but it has some really good ideas for presenting location and time data. Best regards, Niclas

Short visits don’t get recorded

Today I made a few short visits to three different places near my home, but Replay didn’t record them at all, it just included them all in “Movement”. I have the app set to High accuracy (build 14), but it still doesn’t record short visits. I assume you’ve probably configured a threshold whereby you have to be stationary at a location for a short period before it gets counted. But I’m wondering if you could make the “wait time” configurable or maybe include a visit “sensitivity” option?

Location search results not visible while typing

Really loving the updates you’ve made to the timeline and text location search in build 14, nice work! I’m sure you’re already aware, but the fact that you can’t see search results while typing because the keyboard is in the way is a bit annoying. The POI search works perfectly, and I love how it shows the results on the map. But if possible, it might improve UX to expand the sheet while the search box is active or while the keyboard is visible so you can see the results as you type. Then maybe collapse it again when the keyboard is hidden, so you can see results on the map.

Integrate floating tab bar into the bottom sheet, similar to Find My app

I just had a thought today that the bottom sheet + floating tab bar currently used in Replay would look much cleaner if it was integrated into the bottom sheet itself, rather than floating on top, similar to how Apple has done it in the Find My app. I’m not sure how easy this would be to do, but just a thought for a UX improvement 👌🏻

[BUG] Tapping timeline visits shows wrong map location

I’ve noticed today after recording quite a long and complicated timeline that when I tap on one of London Underground stations that I visited in the timeline, the map scrolls to a completely different location half of the time! You’ll see in the video that when I tap on Oxford Circus the first time, the map scrolls to Finchley Road and displays the Finchley Road visit in the bottom sheet. But when I tap on it the second time, the map correctly scrolls to Oxford Circus, yet the bottom sheet still shows Finchley Road for some reason. Then when I tap on Oxford Circus again the whole issue repeats, so it took me quite a while to actually edit this visit, because the map and the timeline seem to not be in sync half of the time 😅
